Combination medications usually consist of 2 or more medications in the same box or medication entry. E.g. Fosamax Plus (Fosamax 70/140mg tablet x 4 tablets and Calcium tablet x 24 Rosuzet Composite Pack 10mg/10mg (Rosuvastatin 10mg tablet x 30 tablets and Ezetrol 10mg x 30 tablets). It is recommended to enter each individual medication separately to the patient’s profile according to how each medication is being packed.

If there is only one of the combination medication saved either in myPak drug database or dispense system, an additional entry for the subsequent medication is required.

📘 Instructions

The following example has been created based on the medication: Rosuzet Composite Pack 10mg/10mg. This drug consists of Ezetrol Rosuvastatin 10mg (Ezetimibe) and Crestor (Rosuvastatin).

There are 2 options on how to add the combination medication.

Option 1: Add the subsequent medication as an Own Brand Drug in the dispense software.

Most dispense software will have the Own Brand Drug function except for Minfos. The drug would need to be entered in their separate drug database.

  1. In dispense software, add Rosuzet Composite Rosuvastatin 10mg Pack and pack size as a Own Brand Drug.

  2. Dispense item as Private and no charge.

  3. Open myPak software.

  4. Under Patient Management, Select Patient

  5. Double click on Patient’s name

  6. Select Add Drug

  7. Select Import from Dispense

  8. Select the Own Brand Drug created E.g. Rosuzet Composite Rosuvastatin 10mg.

  9. Select Med >

  10. Complete the all applicable drug entry fields (e.g. Direction, Description and Dose etc.)

  11. Select Save

Option 2: Add the subsequent medication as a New Drug in myPak drug database.  

  1. Open myPak software

  2. Under Patient Management, Select Patient

  3. Double click on Patient’s name

  4. Select Add Drug

  5. Leaving all fields blank, Select Med >

  6. Enter in user entered medication in Drug field. A unique drug code will automatically generate.

  7. Complete all applicable drug entry fields (e.g. Direction, Description, Generic and Dose etc.)

  8. Select Save

The user entered medication will now be available for use in myPak and dispense drug database.

Enter the first drug Rosuzet Rosuvastatin 10mg manually into your profile.

  1. Select Patient Profile

  2. Select Add

  3. Manually search for Rosuzet Rosuvastatin 10mg tab (MYPA411)

  4. Select Med > to complete the mandatory fields.

Enter the second drug Rosuzet Ezetrol 10mg manually into your profile.

  1. Select Add

  2. Manually search for Rosuzet Ezetrol 10mg tab (MYPA415)

  3. Select Med > to complete the mandatory fields.

Managing Virtual Pill Balance for Combination Drugs:

This feature is only required for Premium myPak users.

Once you have added the medication as their individual entries, your profile should appear like below:

Proceed with dispensing the Rosuzet Composite Pack 10mg/10mg prescription in your dispense system. The generic code for Rosuzet Composite 10mg/10mg has been linked to Rosuzet Rosuvastatin 10mg and will now be available to be imported via Dispense Tracker as below.

You will now need to manually enter the remaining balance into Rosuzet Ezetimibe 10mg (MYPA15).

  1. Select Patient Pill Balance.

  2. Search Patient.

  3. Select Rosuzet Ezetrol 10mg History.

  4. Select Manual adjust to enter the balance into Rosuzet Ezetrol 10mg.

  5. Select Save.
