Often medications go out of stock or a decision has been made to change the existing brand in use. You have the flexibility to swap from one medication brand to another brand with the same strength.

Follow the below steps swap drug brands using Brand Swap.
From the left menu bar, select Brand Swap.
Complete Step 1. Select Original Drug to Swap from → Example used: Panamax 500mg Tab (PANX1).
The same generic brands will be listed in Step 2.
Complete Step 2. Select New Drug to Swap to → Example used: Paracetamol (APO) 500mg, 100 Tab (APOP2).
Complete Step 3. Select Patients to Swap Drug for → All Patient Groups is set by default, however you can filter your patient groups to improve your patient search.
Select Patient to swap drug for.
Patients with No Brand Substitution set to this drug will be flagged and cannot be selected to be swapped.
Select Next → you will then get directed to Brand Swap Summary.
Set the start date. A future date can be set to align the brand swap with your next packing cycle.
Transfer Medication Balance is set by default. This will transfer any remaining virtual pill balance for the previous brand to the new brand. If you wish not to transfer the balance, select the switch to No.
Check your summary and then select Swap Medication.

Patient set for brand swap is a non-reversible process. If an error was made, you can access the swap history in Logs and manually switch them back again. |
