Medication brand changes occurs frequently in pharmacies due to out of stocks or change in suppliers. You have the flexibility to swap from one medication brand to another brand of equivalence.

Follow the steps below to swap medication brands:
From the left menu bar, select Brand Swap.
In Step 1. Select Original Drug to Swap from, from the drop-down list, select the brand you will no longer be using E.g. Panamax 500mg Tab (PANX1).
The drop-down list displays active medication brands in your patient profiles only.
Equivalent brands with the same generic and strength to the selected drug are displayed in Step 2.
Select the new brand you will be using moving forward E. g. Paracetamol (APO) 500mg, 100 Tab (APOP2).
In Step 3. Select Patients to Swap Drug for → All Patient Groups is set by default, however you can filter by Patient Groups to narrow your patient search.
Select patients to apply brand swap.
Patients with No Brand Substitution selected for the drug will be flagged and excluded from brand swap.
Select Next.
You will be directed to Brand Swap Summary.
The start date is set to today’s date by default. However, you can select a future date for the brand swap to align with your next packing cycle.
Transfer Medication Balance is enabled by default. This will transfer any remaining virtual pill balance for the previous brand to the new brand. If you wish to not transfer the balance, turn off the switch by dragging to the left.
Check all details are correct, and click Swap Medication to complete brand swap.
Brand swap is non-reversible. If an error was made, you can access brand swap history in Logs and manually swap patients back to original brand.
