Drug Usage Report

There are various reports available that can be generated per patient for your aged care facilities.

Instructions

  1. Select Drug Usage Report tab

  2. Select Facility

  3. Select Date range to display drug usage during that period

  4. Select from the various Drug Groups to reflect on report

    1. Antimicrobials

    2. Blood Drugs

    3. Cytotoxic Drugs

    4. Polypharmacy Report

    5. PRN Drugs

    6. Psychotropic Drugs

    7. Schedule 8 Drugs

There are 3 report formats you can select from:

  1. Usage Report: List of patients on selected Drug Group

  2. Usage Chart: Data converted to a graph on selected Drug Group

  3. Summary Drug Report: Summary of usage for all Drug Groups in CSV format 

 


Polypharmacy Report

To ensure we remained aligned with the requirements of QI reporting, there has been improvements to how drugs will be counted and displayed on the Polypharmacy Report.

For the purposes of QI Program, any drugs with an active ingredient is counted in the Polypharmacy quality indicator. Except for the following listed - should not be included in the count.

  • Lotions, Creams or Ointments used in skin and wound care, Dietary Supplements, including those containing vitamins.

    • A tick box option has been included in the drug card where these items can be removed from this report.

  • Short-term drugs such as antibiotics or temporary eye drops.

    • All drugs marked as Shortcourse will be removed from the this report.

  • PRN and Unpacked PRN drugs will also be removed from this report.

  • Drugs with multiple entries but with different doses will be counted as a single drug.
