Replacing Canister Gears
Over time, the gears inside your canister may wear down, which can lead to performance issues or even cause the canister to stop working. When that happens, it’s time to replace them.
You can order replacement gears directly from us. Once you have your new gears, follow the video below for a step-by-step guide on how to replace them.
Instructions
Removing the Old Gear
Remove the canister lid.
Flip the canister upside down.
Place your finger in the rotor slot to hold it steady.
Insert the Allen key into the screw slot and turn it anti-clockwise to loosen the screw.
While loosening, keep your hand underneath the canister to support the rotor.
Continue turning until the screw is fully removed, then set it aside.
Using pliers, grip the small wheel securely.
Press your finger on top of the pin, then push the pliers downward to remove the small wheel.
Fitting the New Gear
Insert the small barrel into the center of the large wheel.
Align the gear with the slot inside the rotor.
Note: The outer part of the wheel will spin, but the middle section should stay still.
Insert the screw and gently turn it backwards (anti-clockwise) until you feel it drop into place.
Tighten the screw using the Allen key.
Reinsert the pin into the small wheel and position it correctly.
Push the pin down using the pliers until the pin sits flush with the gear.
Finally, place the lid back on the canister.
