Brand Swap
Often medications go out of stock or a decision has been made to change the existing brand in use. You have the flexibility to swap from one medication brand to another brand with the same strength.
Instructions
Brand Swap is located under Patient Management.
Enter the current brand in the search field
Select Search button
Select the brand by clicking on the medication in the Search Results field
Select the brand to be swapped by clicking on medication in the Matched Brand field
Alternatively search for the brand if not listed in the Matched Brand field.
Facility is set by default to All Facilities, select applicable facility from drop down box if required
All patients on selected current brand medication will now appear on the list
Tick Select All or specific patient’s name
Start date is set by default to the current day. It is suggested to change the date to the start date to which the new brand is expected to be packed.
Select Swap
Original brand is ceased. Matched brand will now be added to all selected patient’s profiles.
Brand Swap Log
All brand swaps are stored historically in the Log function.
Select Log
Select the date range then select Search
No Brand Substitution
There are patients who do not give consent to substitute the original prescribed brand. To ensure these patients' medication brands remain unchanged, you can lock the brand to exclude them from any brand substitution when completed Brand Swap.
Select Patient from patient list
Select Medication that is to be marked No Substitution
Select Substitution Info
Tick No Substitution
Select Save
