Packing with Guided Fill

This function has been designed to help you fill your blister accurately and efficiently by following a visual guide.

If you use Virtual Pill Balance, it is required to pack using this function to subtract the packed tablets from patient pill balance.


Instructions

  1. Select Packing & Checking.

  2. Select Packing tab.

  3. Scan the barcode located on the label/s or foil in Scan Patient Barcode field to auto populate Facility and Patient’s name.

  4. If no barcode has been scanned, manually select Facility and Patient’s name.

  5. Select Number of weeks to be packed.

  6. Select the same Start Date that matches the label/foil to be packed.

  7. Scan the first drug to be packed. Correct drug will be highlighted in yellow.

  8. Proceed to pack drug into the blister.

  9. Once you have completed packing, scan the drug once again to confirm it has been packed. Drug will now be highlighted in green.

  10. Continue steps 7-9 until you have completed packing the whole profile.

  11. Once completed, select Record Packed to subtract the packed balance from the Patient’s Virtual Pill Balance.

Ensure you select Record Packed once you have completed packing to subtract the balance.

Guided Fill Packing
  1. Scan Patient Barcode: Scan patient’s pack barcode here to bring up patient’s list of medications to be packed. Facility and Patient’s name will be pre-populated.

    1. Alternatively, you can manually select the Facility and Patient’s Name.

  2. Pack Weeks: Select the number of weeks between 1-4 that you will be packing. This will update the total QTY to be packed into your blister and the packing matrix displayed.

  3. Pack Start Date: Select the pack start date. Ensure this matches the date on the pack you will be packing.

  4. APN: Scan drug barcode here.

  5. QTY: Indicates the total amount to be packed.

  6. Confirm: In times when you cannot scan the drug, select confirm to manually confirmed drug is packed.

  7. Drug highlighted in yellow: The correct scanned drug will be highlighted in yellow. Once completed packing, re-scan drug and it will then be highlighted in green.

  8. Drug highlighted in green with red text: This indicates drug has not been scanned and manually confirmed by packing technician.

  9. Drug highlighted in green with black text: This indicates this drug has been scanned and packed.

  10. Current Balance: This indicates the current balance for the drug scanned.

  11. Red Negative Balance Warning: This indicates drug scanned currently has a negative balance. Proceeding with packing will result in further negative VPB.

  12. Packing Matrix: Follow the packing matrix to guide you where to pack your drugs into your blister.

  13. Red Warning: Patient has NOT been checked: This indicates this patient’s profile has yet to be marked as checked by a Pharmacist.

  14. Record Packed: Once you have completed scanning/confirmed packed all your drugs, it will turn green. Ensure you select Record Pack to subtract balance from Patient’s VPB.
