Initial Pill Balance Entry
Virtual Pill Balance (VPB) is used to manage the balance of your patient’s packed medications.
Instructions
Before you start using this function, you must enter the initial pill balance for all your patient’s packed medications. Let’s begin by printing a report to list all the medications that is required to be counted and recorded.
Select Virtual Pill Balance
Select Patient Balance tab
Select Facility
Select Search. This will display all patients with packed medications and their current VPB.
Select Export Balance. A confirmation message will indicate where the CSV file has been saved. You have the option to open the document by selecting have the option to open the document by selecting Yes or navigate to the saved destination when you are ready.
Once you have counted the remaining balance of your patient’s packed medications, enter the amount into the Current Balance column. Save and close your document.
When you are ready to import the initial pill balance into myPak, select Import from Excel. Select the file that was saved in your designated location.
The remaining balance of your patient’s medications will then be imported as the patient’s initial pill balance
Initial Pill Balance entry is only required to be completed when setting up a new facility/group of patients.
